Ok so only text replies to threads are working right now.

I forgot to update GD after updating PHP to a newer version, so image thumbnailing doesn't work at all.

Making new threads still doesn't seem to work after the PHP version update, because the syntax is different from what the code uses. This site was coded in PHP 8.0.

There's a global PHP vulnerability rampaging all over the web right now. I think I will close this site down for until it has been patched, which a lot of service providers are currently doing.
